Throne Chair

© 2000

One of my favorite pieces, I've deemed this the "throne chair." This is whimsical, yet oh so functional. Old is new again as we learn from our past and expand on ideas from our predecessors. This rendering is based upon an early 18th C. utilitarian design.

My piece has added features -- I've hidden a wine rack under the seat and the chair's back folds down to form a lovely table. Used as a table, this seats five for an intimate setting, but please don't cover this with a table cloth! The beauty of this piece is in the wood; it's exquisite. The tabletop is curly cherry and the grain pattern is breathtaking. The chairFrame is solid cherry.
